Received a WhatsApp message from us?
The message came from the estate agency named in it. You contacted that agency in the past year about valuing or selling your home, and they asked us to follow up on their behalf. Second Knock is the service they use to send the message and to book a visit if you would like one.
To stop the messages
Reply STOP. That is all. You will not be messaged again - not by that agency through us, and not by any other business that uses our service. You will only ever receive three messages at most in any case, and any reply from you ends the sequence.
If you are still thinking of selling
Just reply. You can ask for a time that suits you and the agency's valuer will come round. Replies are first handled by the agency's automated assistant, which can only arrange the visit - it cannot quote prices or fees. If you would rather speak to a person, say so and someone will get back to you.
If a visit is booked, you get a reminder the day before and on the day. A few hours after the visit we may send one short message asking whether it went ahead - a yes or no is enough, and you do not have to answer. It helps make sure the agency is only charged for visits that really happened.
What we hold about you
Your first name, your mobile number, what you asked the agency about and when, and the messages in this conversation. The agency is responsible for that information (they are the data controller); we handle it on their behalf. It is encrypted, it is never sold or shared with other agencies, and it is deleted when the agency stops using us. If you opt out we keep only a scrambled version of your number, so that we can be sure never to message you again.
Questions or complaints
Contact the agency that messaged you, or write to us at hello@secondknock.co.uk. You can ask for a copy of your information or for it to be deleted, and we will answer within one month. The full detail is in our privacy notice. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
